I always was an avid reader. The
memory of old readings brings to my mind the well-know
introduction: “Once upon a time ." Today I want to
honor that memory.
“Once upon a time a young dog escaped from the house of his
owner and having remembered of an entrance to the Queen of
England 's Palace from the gardens, he arrived at the very same
palace, inadvertently, entering before the scrutinizing eyes of
guards and servants. When they finally became aware of the
intruder and daring visitor they ran to look for him.
Nevertheless this was not an impediment for the young dog to get
to know different places, and rooms of such a beautiful and
distinguished place. When his unexpected trip ended and he
returned to the place where he truly belonged, he told his
friends with great surprise and detail of what had happened and
of what he saw. He was lost for words to describe the beauty and
splendor of the place: The royal throne room, the furnishings,
the paintings, and the decorations.... It was a night enriched
by endless stories and anecdotes”.
I can
identify with this story because I want to share with you
something about a kingdom and a king high and sublime. I admit
it is impossible to do it unless the Holy Spirit does the same
with you and me than what he did with John in the Patmos Isle
when his eyes were opened and his heard about the revelation
of Jesus Christ Glorified. And his fists… this was like a
pen point of a scribe sharing what today we can all read in the
last book of the Bible . “I John, who also am your
brother and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and
patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos
for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ, I
was in the spirit of the Lord's Day and heard behind me a great
voice, as a trumpet saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and
the last, and what thou seest, write in a book and send it unto
the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto
Smyrna and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis,
and unto Philadelphia and unto Laodicea .”
(Revelation 1: 9-11 )
One
day… what a day! The heavens were opened and the Spirit was
manifested upon the already old John the Apostle who was captive
on the Patmos Isle for the cause of the Word and the testimony
of God. Submerged in another sphere he heard a voice like a
trumpet. And this great voice declared: “I am the Alpha
and Omega.” That's who I am." He is the same who
revealed himself to Moses when the bush burned but wasn't
consumed. No, it is not I was or I will be but
the "I am" - The God of the present time. You have no
tomorrow, but yes you have a today. That is why the word says:
"If you hear His voice today, do not toughen your
heart." Open your heart because today is the
moment, today is the day in which He reveals himself. Today is
when the earth and the heavens meet.
That
voice as of a trumpet that announced I am the Alpha, wanted to
show "I am the beginning of all things." Significantly
Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet. John the
Apostle also referred to this in his Gospel . "In the
beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God.” (John 1:1). If we refer to the Old Testament,
The book of Genesis also says that: "In the beginning God
created…” What a mystery. God was present before anything
existed, before nothing. Before He would put a Word in His
mouth, He was already there.
I
experienced a beautiful visitation of God in the province of
Mendoza , Republic of Argentina , in the beginning of my
ministry in that country at the end of the Forties, in the
Twentieth Century. I didn't begin anything. He did it all. I was
only next to the promoter of the revival. I also heard a strong
voice as of a trumpet sounding. That voice is frightful. That
voice also sounded in Mount Sinai and the Israelite brethren
were greatly overcome with fear because it sounded noisily until
they finally fled because they were so terrified. And what did
that voice say? What important message did it hold? What
revelation? What secret ? "I begin everything, I finish
everything. I am Alpha and Omega." What an
announcement! What a statement! Everything is in His hands: The
whole world and everything that lives. Everything that happened,
happens and will happen. God is Alpha and Omega, the beginning
and the end. He is the great Creator and the great finisher.
Today you would not exist if God hadn't ordered your mother's
womb to shelter that small egg and to nurse it. You would not
exist if God had not said: “See the light!" He ordered
that you enter this world, see the light, breathe, hear, grow
and become the living person you are today. And when the end of
your days comes, nothing will extend or shorten them because He
is also your Omega.
Frankly, let me tell you something else... with such a powerful
being and great as he is I want to be in good terms, I want to
be his friend and not his enemy. I desire that he be pleased
with me and not angry. Because such a great being and so great
in his magnificence is also remarkable in anger. Otherwise
remember what the devil's rebellion caused him. He never dreamed
of such anger of God. So much that he was exiled from the
Heavens forever and an extremely miserable site called hell is
his home today.
